Hi. I’m Amy.
I’m an editor, and I like tacos and Lake Michigan and hosting dinner parties. I also overanalyze everything. But, for some reason, when I decided to become a foster parent, I didn’t think about it–I just did it. My first placement was with me for two and a half years. In this space, I call him T. He was 7 when he came to live with me in November of 2016. He made my life complicated and hard and I have a whole lot of gray hairs that weren’t there when he arrived. I’ve had a handful of respite and short-term placements since he left, and I at some point along the way I decided to start writing about the experience–mostly to try to help keep myself sane.
